A PhD holder in Materials Engineering from the Institute of Superconducting and Electronic Materials in Australia, he published cutting edge research in the highest-ranking journal in renewable energy storage.

Alfred has worked in the public, education, private and not-for-profit sectors.  He helps clients boost their performance, highlight key strengths, confront development areas, and achieve specific goals. He draws on his unique cultural background, extensive training and real-life experience from the iAccelerate Innovation Hub programmes at the University of Wollongong, Seth Godin’s AltMBA course, Growth Project, TEDx platform, Professional Speakers Australia.

Upon discovering his passion for improving literacy, he took the leap, left the field of science to become a social entrepreneur, setting up a not-for-profit organisation to rescue books from landfill and turn them into treasure for disadvantaged children in rural Zimbabwe. His humanitarian efforts were recognised by the City of Wollongong at the Australia Day celebrations in 2018, where he was nominated citizen of the year and presented with the Mayor’s Excellence Award. In the true spirit of Ubuntu, together with his team of librarians and volunteers, they have set up 30 school libraries in different communities and built four, brick by brick.

Most recently, he worked with teams in the Australian Public Service as a People and Culture Expert, increasing engagement by double figures and transforming cultures where staff thrive.
