Chandran Nair is the Founder &CEO of the Global Institute for Tomorrow (GIFT).

His insights are especially timely in today’s complex global landscape. Chandran’s approach is holistic and grounded in scientific understanding of the existential and hegemonic threats facing humanity, as well as the realities of both public and private sector responses.  

Chandran is the author of three acclaimed books, including Consumptionomics: Asia's Role in Reshaping Capitalism and Saving the Planet, The Sustainable State: The Future of Government, Economy, and Society, and Dismantling Global White Privilege: Equity for a Post-Western World, which was listed by Gideon Rachman in the Financial Times as “some of the best new writing in politics.” Mamphela Ramphele, co-founder of the Black Consciousness Movement, described the book as having “done the global community a great service.”  

With decades of leadership experience, including as former Chairman of ERM Asia-Pacific, Chandran brings unparalleled expertise incorporate sustainability and systemic global challenges. He has delivered guest lecturer sessions at institutions such as Cambridge University and has been a presenter at the World Economic Forum (WEF), APEC Summits, Club of Rome, OECD events and various UN conferences. His perspectives have been featured on platforms including CNN, BBC, South China Morning Post, and The Diplomat. 

Chandran is a member of various leading international organisations such as the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)’s Global Steering Committee for The Business and Sustainability Programme, the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Agenda Council on Governance for Sustainability and Experts Forum and the Club of Rome. Often invited by some of the leading global business schools as a guest lecturer, including INSEAD, Duke CE and London Business School.
