Thilan Legierse is an international keynote speaker, executive coach, mediator and bestselling author who helps leaders see what others miss. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience as a barrister, United Nations war crimes investigator, human resources leader, mediator and executive coach, she challenges leaders to confront what they are avoiding, recognise the patterns others overlook, and lead with greater courage, clarity and emotional intelligence.
Her career has taken her from courtrooms in the Netherlands to some of the world's most challenging environments. Working with the United Nations in Cambodia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland and The Hague, Thilan investigated human rights violations and war crimes, interviewing victims, witnesses and perpetrators, and contributing to cases before international tribunals. Those experiences profoundly shaped her understanding of leadership, human behaviour and accountability. They taught her that leadership is not tested when everything is going well, but when the stakes are highest and the decisions are hardest.
Today, Thilan brings those lessons into boardrooms, conference halls and workplaces across Australia. Rather than simply talking about leadership, she draws on real-life experiences that few speakers can match to help leaders navigate conflict, make better decisions, recognise behavioural patterns, hold people accountable and build high-performing teams where both people and performance thrive.
As the Founder and Principal Coach of TLC Leadership Group, Thilan has coached and trained thousands of leaders across government, education, defence, healthcare, not-for-profit organisations and the private sector. Her work combines evidence-based leadership practices with practical tools that leaders can immediately apply in their own teams. Audiences consistently describe her presentations as engaging, authentic and refreshingly practical, leaving with not only new insights but also the confidence to put them into action.
Thilan is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), a nationally accredited mediator and the author of the Amazon bestselling book Dealing with Conflict at Work. She is widely recognised for helping leaders develop the confidence to navigate difficult conversations, strengthen accountability, build trust and create psychologically safe, high-performing workplace cultures.
Known for her warmth, authenticity and powerful storytelling, Thilan doesn't simply inspire audiences—she challenges the way they think. By combining extraordinary life experiences with practical leadership strategies, she helps leaders see what others miss, make better decisions and lead with greater confidence, compassion and courage.
Long after the applause has ended, audiences leave with something far more valuable than motivation: a new way of seeing leadership, people and themselves.
