In addition to her love for sloths, Yael is a highly regarded keynote and TEDx speaker, a passionate mental health advocate, and an expert advisor in life and business strategy. Over the years, she has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2020 Standard Bank Top Woman in Property Award. In 2023, she was named CEO of the Year at the Woman of Stature Awards, and in 2024, she earned the runner-up position in the Global Women’s Business Awards in the Property and Construction category. Yael was also recognised as one of the Top 30 Trailblazers in the Strategic African Women in Leadership awards.
Raised in a real estate dynasty founded by her grandmother, Aida, Yael gained extensive experience in real estate marketing, brand building, and business development in the United States before joining her father, Lew Geffen, in the family business. For the past nine years, she has successfully led Sotheby’s International Realty South Africa.
